Stoke City will have to cope with the absence of Robert Huth for a couple of weeks as the German defender is going to undergo a knee surgery after having to be taken off during the match against Sunderland as they played last week at the Britannia Stadium.

The tactician of Stoke City Mark Huges confirmed the injury as he said during a press conference:

“We hoped that we would be able to manage him through it. But it looks like he will have to have an operation on it, so we are going to lose him for a number of weeks.” Hopefully he will be able to find what is wrong and sort it.

“It could be three weeks, or longer depending what the surgeon finds. Robert has an issue with the cartilage and possibly with the ligaments.”

Marko Arnautovic and Andy Wilkinson are other important players that are suffering from injuries and will have to maintain themselves away from the pitch on a couple of Stoke City’s matches. Andy Wilkinson however has been struggling with his knee problem as he has only been able to play 2 matches in this season for his team.

Marc Wilson, Stephen Ireland and Kenwyne Jones all are players at the disposal of Mark Hughes as they were left out during Stoke City’s match against Sunderland but are now back for the selection of the coach which is a big boost not only for Hughes but also for the team after receiving so many blows with some of their key players getting injured recently.

Huth has made 15 appearances in all competitions for Stoke so far this season which is a sign of just how important he is for the club.
