Stoke City has Fantastic Record against Arsenal and MC
Stoke City have had some fantastic results against top teams like Arsenal and Manchester City in the first half of the season. Keen to build on this form, Stoke boss Mark Hughes is not set to allow any complacency within the team.
He is set to provide an opportunity for Philipp Wollscheid when his Stoke team take on Arsenal at the Emirates stadium. The 25-year-old has been signed from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen on a loan deal. Due to several injury problems currently hampering Stoke, Hughes says that he is prepared to give the new signing a chance.
Meanwhile, there is also a possibility of defender Robert Huth heading out on loan. This is likely to bring an end to his Stoke City career.Huth has struggled with injuries for the last 12 months and he has rarely featured in the first-team.
Even though a move on a short-term basis may help him build his fitness, this may eventually result in a move away from the club on a permanent basis. Hughes has said that Stoke City will be taking caution when it comes to loaning out Huth since they do not want to be left short on the defensive front if anyone of the players like Ryan Shawcross gets injured.
“We might look at a number of things, but we have to be careful we don’t allow ourselves to be a little bit thin on the ground. If we feel it’s sensible for guys to go out to have a few games, and if Robert Huth comes into that bracket, we will have a look it,” said Hughes about Robert Huth.”He’s up to speed in my view and having seen him in training this week he looks in good shape. He’s an option,” said Hughes about the possibility of giving Wollscheid his debut against Arsenal.
