Hughes Admits Interest In Redmond
Steve Sidwell, Mame Biram Diouf, Phil Bardsley and Bojan Krkic are all the reinforcements that have officially been announced and confirmed to join Stoke City in their next season. It has been a relatively quiet transfer window for Mark Hughes who has signed players in many areas of the team but the Welsh manager revealed that he is interested in securing the services of Norwich’s winger Nathan Redmond.
Mark Hughes confirmed his interest in signing Nathan Redmond as he told the media: “There is interest there, he’s a good young player and a player we would like, but he’s not our player. He’s Norwich’s player and they are obviously well within their rights to retain him. He’s under contract to them and there is nothing moving at the moment. So we’ll just have to bide our time maybe.”
Even if he is unable to sign Redmond from Norwich, Hughes remains very optimistic about a particular signing he made a few weeks ago which was Bojan Krkic.
Bojan Krkic is a 23 years old player who became recognized for his technical abilities as he made his way through the youth teams of Barcelona and signed a professional contract with the first team at the age of 17 but he has failed to make an impact with any of the teams he has signed ever since.
Krkic was transferred to As.Roma, Ac.Milan and Ajax on loan deals before eventually joining Stoke City on a permanent transfer but during his time playing at the previously mentioned he could never really standout and generate any kind of a breakthrough performance. As.Roma, Ac.Milan and Ajax all had the opportunity of signing Bojan Krkic on permanent deals but since the youngster failed to make his presence, the clubs decided to not extend his contract any further.
Mark Hughes however remains optimistic about Bojan Krkic as he believes that the 23 years old forward will light up Stoke City and the Premier League.
Mark Hughes praised Bojan as the Welsh manager talked about the former Barcelona player during a press conference and said: ‘’Bojan has looked very impressive and very sharp during pre-season, and he’s scored some goals as well. But it’s what you expect when you look at the teams he has played for, especially his education at Barcelona. He’s a great prospect for us, he’s an exciting player and I’m looking forward to seeing him in action when the season begins’’
