TOUGH TEST
Stoke City defender Robert Huth has said that the match against Everton will be a tough test for them. Tony Pulis and his men will be coming up against Everton during the weekend. They will be taking on David Moyes’ team at the Britannia stadium where they have been undefeated in the last 14 matches. However, Everton will be major threat towards that record according to Huth. Stoke City have been one of the surprising packages in terms of defensive records this season. They have conceded only three goals at home all season, while they share an even better defensive record than clubs like United and Arsenal.
However, they have found it difficult to score goals on a regular basis, which has been the main reason for them being near the bottom half of the table. Stoke City have been undefeated at home for the last 14 matches in a period that stretches to more than 10 months. This is currently the longest Premier league undefeated record. This has been largely built on the incredible partnership between Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross in the centre of defence. The German has said that he is just happy to be helping his team.
“Yes, that makes it good for me and it will be great if we can keep it going, but we mustn’t jinx it. Everybody wants a run like that and it is nice to have the best record right now, but it is something we have to work extremely hard at to keep it going. Everton are the club who everyone aspires to be. They are very professional and they beat teams in a good manner. They can play you off the park or grind out a result,” said the Stoke defender ahead of the match with Everton during the weekend.
