Robert Huth is out of action for 2 months
The 32 year old German defender of Leicester City, Robert Huth has recent undergone a surgery on his ankle and he is expected to take around 2 months of recovery which means that Huth will be missing out from the start of the 2017-2018 season of the English Premier League.
The 2017-18 season of the EPL is going to kick-off on August 11 and if Robert Huth does indeed need 2 months of recovery, then he is not going to be back into the pitch until late September or early October.
¨Robert reported back for pre-season and got into some discomfort with his ankle. He’s had an operation and thankfully it was successful. It’s unfortunate for Robert but we thought it might be worse. We’re expecting him to be out for around six to eight weeks¨ the head coach of Leicester City, Craig Shakeaspeare said.
For the past few weeks, Leicester City has been travelling to Hong Kong in order to play their fixtures for their Premier League Asia journey.
Craig Shakeaspeare and his squad have already faced off against: West Bromwich and Liverpool but Robert Huth has had to miss out from all these matches as he opted to stay out and focus on his recovery.
This time that Robert Huth will spend out of the pitch is good and bad news for Leicester City as the head coach Craig Shakeapeare can use it to put in his summer signing Harry Maguire into his starting XI and see if the £12 million that was spent on him was actually money well-spent.
Leicester City experienced a historic season during their campaign of 2015-16 as they emerged as the champions of England but in the following season, dropped to the 12th spot.
Robert Huth played a huge role for Leicester City in their unforgettable season as he made 35 appearances and not having him available to perform in the early stages of the upcoming 2017-18 campaign is a big blow for the club.
